The site where you may find interesting and occasionally useful equipment for both the aspiring and accomplished guitarist. This ever-changing collection of guitars, amplifiers, and miscellaneous equipment reflects a 40-year love affair with music and it’s accoutrements. Our tastes seem to run from the utilitarian toward the more strange and peculiar. Two and a half years ago we began to produce a line of hand-crafted electric guitars designed and priced for the “working musician”. These instruments are crafted from both native and exotic woods, hand-finished with either nitrocellulose lacquer or polyurethane, complimented with high-quality components, and professionally set-up. All work is completed at our shops on Pine Island, Florida. DC / Pine Island Guitar instruments are priced very competitively. Depending upon choice of components; a one-off, completely hand-crafted, professionally finished and set-up custom guitar will generally cost less than a comparably specked offshore production model “brand name” guitar. Master luthier Don Casamassa has been building custom guitars for many years. His guitars are played by notables such as slide-playing bluesman John Mooney (Mooney Designed F-Style Tele), the guitarists of the Zac Brown Band (Coodercasters). Recently country music artist Tom Jackson is playing a Pine Island Guitar custom made Tele. Wood used for our guitars is handpicked and matched for both tonal and aesthetic quality. Wood for each book-matched top is resawn, surface planed and jointed in our own woodshop. All instrument bodies are hand-sawn, shaped, and sanded with great attention to detail. Guitars are pre-assembled with their necks and components to insure proper fitment, then disassembled and sprayed with sanding sealer and multiple coats of either nitrocellulose instrument lacquer or poly. Guitar bodies are then hand color-sanded, buffed, and assembled. Each instrument then receives its final professional set-up and testing. Inventory generally represents items that we are still keen on, but have now moved from “must have” to “can live without” status.
